Innovation rooted in turfgrass
Built from experience
Eco Clipper’s origins lie on the Leijenaar family turfgrass farm in the Netherlands in the 1990s. Alongside daily turfgrass production, developing and modifying equipment for our own use was part of everyday practice. Improving machinery was necessary to keep operations efficient and workable at a time when mechanisation in turfgrass production was still in its early stages.
Conventional cylinder mowers posed recurring challenges: high maintenance demands, inconsistent cutting results, and limited performance in wet conditions. For large-scale turfgrass production, these limitations directly affected planning, efficiency, and crop quality.
Rather than adapting to these constraints, we began developing our own solutions.
From practical experimentation to an engineered concept
On the farm, years of experimentation with smaller blades, higher blade density, and smooth deck geometry laid the foundation for a new rotary mowing concept. The objective was clear: achieve a clean cut, reliable performance in varying conditions, and reduced mechanical complexity.
While one brother, Ymco Leijenaar, continued in turfgrass production, Syb Leijenaar built a career in product development outside the turfgrass business.
After years of refining these mowing principles, this work culminated in 2002 with the introduction of the Green Clipper 5 (GC5) — the first commercial mower based on the farm-developed concept. What began as an internal solution had evolved into a professional machine ready for broader application.
From farm-built machine to professional manufacturer
As demand grew for wider and more efficient systems, the concept developed beyond its original farm application. In 2018, Syb Leijenaar founded LS Products BV to manufacture and bring mowing machines to market under the Eco Clipper brand.
Today, Eco Clipper systems are engineered, produced, and supported through LS Products BV, combining decades of field experience with structured engineering and industrial manufacturing processes.
Why we do what we do
Eco Clipper was built on a simple conviction: large-area mowing can be cleaner, more efficient, and more predictable.
At Eco Clipper, innovation starts with identifying real operational challenges. We combine practical insight with solid engineering expertise to develop solutions that are both technically robust and effective in daily use.
That principle continues to guide every system we design and build.
