Eco Clipper AM5: autonomous mowing for turfgrass production
After a successful six-month field validation, the Eco Clipper AM5 autonomous mower is now available for commercial sale. The battery-powered version will be demonstrated at the TGA Demonstration Day 2026 at Grasslands Turf in the United Kingdom on 2 July.
A proven proposition for turfgrass producers
The EC-AM5 diesel-powered version has been operating at Loeffen, a turfgrass producer in the Netherlands, over the past six months. The validation period was used to gain practical experience and to identify opportunities for further development. The machine performed well mechanically and technically throughout.
The main outcome was a refinement of the route planning software, making it more practical for day-to-day use on a turfgrass production farm. Development continues, as it does with any innovative product, but the EC-AM5 has now reached the stage where it is ready for commercial deployment.
"The validation period has given us the confidence that we have a strong proposition for turfgrass producers who are looking for labour savings and who operate large plots or large clusters of fields," says Syb Leijenaar, founder of Eco Clipper.
Specification update
The EC-AM5 is equipped with a 513 cm mowing deck. The latest version includes a third wheel and an integrated power pack, enabling easier transport over shorter distances between fields.
Both a battery-powered and a diesel-powered version are available.
